Re: 7.3 mods

Intake, exhaust, gauges, custom tunes, adrenaline, then regulated return. IMO.

Probably going to need something to help with surge, and some trans mods as well, such as a VB, and maybe a TC, but before the TC, get a trans cooler.

Re: 7.3 mods

Definatly address the trans as soon as you can, since no matter what you do that will have to be done.

Re: 7.3 mods

does the custom tunes aid the trans? or does the trans still need upgrades?

Re: 7.3 mods

Tunes have some trans tuning, but you need MORE than that.

Re: 7.3 mods

The tunes work together with the tranny in making it last. As long as the tranny's parts are going to hold up, that's always an issue with a stocker.

Re: 7.3 mods

i agree with what everyone has said.. gauges, intake, exhaust, custom tunes, then the rest... Turbo upgrade should be on the list as well and at the very min a upgraded valve body.. but.. a upgraded TC would be nice as well... also get a larger trans cooler like a 6.0L cooler

Re: 7.3 mods

Why does everyone recomend a trans cooler? I've never had a temp problem with the stock early 99 with everything in my sig and the trailer loaded is about 13K. Just curious. It gets plenty hot here in Az.
