Wastegate Information...

Who here has installed a wastegate on a 7.3 with a single?

Specs on gate, turbo, injector etc... would be nice as well as some numbers if anyone has them.

It's gotta be a 7.3, guys with compounds can chime in, but I don't know how much help that would be for me and my application....

Re: Wastegate Information...

Staying with the same size single as what just came off of my truck but with a looser exhaust housing. The idea is I don't want to change it much on fuel but when I hit the bottles to her... I don't want to frag another charger.

Re: Wastegate Information...

I run two tial44s. It is in compounds. What are you looking to know exactly? If they can slow down a 38r id imagine they can slow down a s400 type to keep your boost where you want.

Re: Wastegate Information...

Just throw a TN RG-45 gate on it and be done with it Marty. Having all the specs in the world is not going to help you. You know that you have a BP issue on the juice and you need to relieve that pressure. A 45mm gate should be a good starting point. Oh and I would also start with the same size housing you had before and just use the gate to improve control.

Re: Wastegate Information...

Haven't installed mine yet but i am have two precision 46mm gates plumbed into the DI headers. Empire spec'd everything out so you might want to call Chad or Buddy over there. Not real sure how a single 45mm gate that size would work. If to small, You could still have a chance of overspeeding the turbo.

I would just adjust the gate till you are at a 1(boost):1(drivepressure) ratio on fuel only and then spray the leaving piss out of it.
