budget performance ideas?

I'm kinda new to the diesel world. I'm a weekend hauler and looking for some budget ideas like tuners and chips. Are there any good all in one products out there. It seems a little pricey for gauges, chips and all the rest. I looking for bang for my buck.

Re: budget performance ideas?

Budget intake is a napa 6637 filter or similar a couple of hose clamps and a short 4" exuast pipe.

Budget exhuast is a walker btm from summit etc.

Budget chip is a 10k mod but a chip is well worth it

Budget gauge is an egt guage and single mount..or a glowshift set from flea bay.
From actual owners I have heard good info, from my brothers , wife, cousin boyfriend had one they didn't like them, but usually heresay.

But a real chip, custom tuned from someone like beans diesel performance, will get you better milage, and that will save you some cash.

this is about the best budget build outlines as stated by south mike.
budget and performance do not go together at all.
a good custom tuned chip would be worth your $$,

These trucks are like women. The more you spend on them the better they perform and they get pretty.

Re: budget performance ideas?

The OP didn't say exactly what his budget is--for some "budget" means as cheap as possible, but for someone else, that same term might mean only getting 22K gold-plated exhaust vs. 24K...

Re: budget performance ideas?

I guess what i should of asked is, are there any tuners with the egt and boost gauges built into the same screen. Kinda like the 6 gun. I thought it would be a cheaper route than installing the gauges and buying a chip, something all in one. Guys take it easy on me I don't have alot of time to do alot of research. I'm just looking for some more giddy up pulling the trailers up the hills here in western pa.
