Better Upgrade?

Ive got a 2000 F250 7.3 6 speed with a ts performance chip, intake, exhaust and gauges. Ive been looking at the Snow performance water methanol systems and have been considering a GT38R...which is the better upgrade at this point.

Re: Better Upgrade?

At this point with what you have done to your truck the turbo would be a much better purchase. In the future with a little more extreme apps. the water meth would be good to keep egt's down.

Re: Better Upgrade?

I haul a trailer sometimes with a couple horses but it would be more for fun driving and occasional strip trips...

Re: Better Upgrade?

The turbo gives you room to grow later, also may consider doing the bellowed up pipes at that point.

DRW and tow fast parts.......

Re: Better Upgrade?

I have the 38r and the 6spd and i notice a definite power gain and spool up time. I haven't had it long so i couldn't tell ya everything. I dont have my gauges installed yet so im not sure about the boost or egt #'s. I also have the superchip instead of the ts chip.

Re: Better Upgrade?

hp wise a gt38 will get you bout 16 by its self.
but it will support more latter should you add injectors etc.
it will lower egts, spool faster and should surge less.
you will also gain some hp when you go to custom tunes.
but i would hold off on getting reburns till you get a few more mods.

Early 99 f350 4x4 crew cab, auto. pmt2 pcm
2001 cup holder ,T500, MAX AC ASSIST AC mod, Diy Twin tymar, TS chip, Powerslots & Hawk pads, ford AIC, ..... with big fat want to list.
