Turbo question s476-88

Hey guys, I have 300/200 injectors with a k31 right now. other mods are in sig. I am thinking of doing a s476. i wanted to do an s480 but everyone told me it was too large to use on a dd truck, cant stay ontop the turbo.

What is yalls opinions of a s 476 with an 88mm inducer on the exhaust side with my injectors and setup?

Thanks for the imput

Re: Turbo question s476-88

from what i understand i believe you would be good with that turbo. I have 238/100% and plan to run a 476/82. but i am no expert

Re: Turbo question s476-88

I think it would work pretty decent. I'm running a 476/88 (BFH) with IIRC a 1.30 T4 housing and smaller injectors than what you have for the winter. Mine was built so I can run 300/400's this coming year.

I'd give Swamps a call and see what they think, I got mine from them.

Re: Turbo question s476-88

my engine is fully built also.

I plan on running this but want to go to a 400% nozzle later. and hope that wont be "too much" for the turbo then.

I think even with 400% nozzles an 480 will be hard to keep spooled and not fun to drive on the street.

Re: Turbo question s476-88

Kenny,

I would have to think the 88mm is the EXDUCER of the turbine wheel. The inducer is most likely in the 96mm range.

FWIW, I run an S476/88mm exducer on my truck with just a set of stg 1's for now, and I LOVE the turbo. It lites fast, it will bark on the shifts, but I have no problems keeping it lit even with the stg 1's. Towing is awsome with this charger. (.90 exhaust housing, so I have room to grow if BP becomes an issue)

I think you will be much happier with it than what you were originally looking to run from your other posts.

Re: Turbo question s476-88

Thanks for the imput uncool - BTW what is a stage 1 considered?

SO if you can keep it spooled and all with stage 1 (if they are what i am thinking) wont it be too small for a 300/200 or 300/400?

Re: Turbo question s476-88

Stg 1 as in 160ish cc stockish nozzled injectors. They are a set of Hypermax stg1's that are about 7 years old. I really have no idea how much they flow.

This turbo has been run with a set of 400+ cc B codes with a few mods. I think you'll be just fine.

Re: Turbo question s476-88

Re: Turbo question s476-88

It's too late to edit my post, but my turbine housing is a 1.32. I'm currently running this turbo with a set of 170ish A codes, stock nozzles.

UNCOOL I bet that thing is fun with the .90, I had that housing on my S465 with the 74mm wheel, and it was a blast with stock A codes even.

Re: Turbo question s476-88

so do yall think i should do an 76/88 with 1.0 exh housing or a 80/88 1.0 exh housing. 300/200s now but plan to do 400% in the near future.

I DRIVE THIS EVERYDAY!
