D66 vs ?

Hey all, just looking into a new turbo for my e99, and was wondering the difference between something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EARLY...%3D5%26ps%3D63

and this?

http://beansdieselperformance.com/st...&productId=100

My truck is never gonna make big HP numbers, I'm not really interested in that, but I plan on mild injector upgrades, Adrenaline HPOP and a chip when i get the injectors. Any thoughts on the two turbos?

(edit: the truck carries a 1700lb camper and say a 1000lb trailer, about max load for me)

Re: D66 vs ?

I am sure somebody with more knowledge with me will chime in but I am pretty sure the wicked wheel is the factory wheel for the early 99 so no upgrade there. The biggest thing to me would be Beans reputation vs somebody on ebay. I am no turbo expert so I can`t answer all your questions but here is a link about the wicked wheel from another respected site sponsor.

I am in the same boat with the early 99. I am considering the D66 but leaning towards the H2E. I just don`t think I would be comfortable ordering a turbo from another country. Looking at your future plans I`d go with the dominator 66 from beans.

Re: D66 vs ?

FWIW - do yourself a favor and call Beans and pass on the Ebay turbo.
IIRC the D66 flows enough air to support 500hp. flows a tad more more air than the H2E, although drive pressures are likley lower with the H2E.

What injectors are you planning? if you swap to single shots 160's/180's you could put your $ towards new tunes / newer pcm and not need the hpop.

Re: D66 vs ?

All I can say is I know what you will be getting from Beans and you will know exactly what to expect and what its capable of. Beans can tell you exactly what combos will work best with it. I suspect the D66 is the better of the two but as above I am nto turbo expert. But I bet ya Beans and other like Matt,Marty, Jim, etc.. will all know the real differences. I also have to be honest when I see them touting a Banks wicker wheel it makes me suspect. Maybe unwarranted but I still can't help it. You know what you will be getting from Bean's and that they will be there to help you with it anyway you need. That alone has a great amount of value. I do look forward to see the experts analysis on this comparison.

D66 flows as much as a 38R, so it's possible. Not many people running big enough squirters with a D66 to do it though.

Re: D66 vs ?

Does it technically have a better boost to drive pressure ratio as well compared to the 38R? I knwo its not BB but I thought I saw it compared to the unmodded H2E for that. If that the case wouldn't 238-250/100s maybe a little head porting and HPOP along with the normal support get you right up there?
