Turbo decision

My truck doesn't have upgraded injectors, and at this time I don't want to upgrade my injectors till I build the bottem end. Having said this, I need to replace my turbo soon since its the original and I don't want to have it blow without something here to put in it right away.

Would it be a waste of money to upgrade to a 38R or a H2E without injectors? I want to do something more than just rebuild my stocker. All opinions are welcome.

Re: Turbo decision

It depends where you ultimate goal is. Where are planning on taking this build? HP? What Injectors when you do get them?

Re: Turbo decision

The 38R will work fine with stock injectors.

Re: Turbo decision

As for right now, my truck will always be a DD... I don't want to lose the reliability of the truck. I do want to do a HPOP in the future, but as far as injectors, they will always be stock if not just slightly bigger. My truck won't be putting down monster HP anytime soon.

38r would be perfect for you.

Re: Turbo decision

I looked at the H2E because of the fact that you change the mount style and woudl be helpful for future modifications if I did end up going bigger. Would a H2E with stock injectors be a joke?

Re: Turbo decision

I'd get a stock H2E... it's smaller then a 38r, cheaper and it's a mounting kit you can expand on when you buy the built bottom end.

I'd call Carson for his mount kit, I really like his up-pipe setup over hypermax's...

Re: Turbo decision

A stock H2E or a modded 66mm H2E runs great on stock injectors.

Not sure I know who Carson is. I frequent the forum, but only know a few suppliers.
