Gauges finally installed..question?

I finally get my gauges installed, thanks KT Performance, and I have a question? What is the norm for boost witha PHP chip on say the 100HP perf, and the 85DD settings? Also, how long does it take the tranny to move off 100 degrees in 30 degree weather, or will it? The factory dummy gauge moved up near where it normally stays.

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

Well mine hits 21 psi instantly when I get on it with the 85DD setting from PHP.

Its like it runs into a wall and doesnt go up anymore so thats the wastegate or something kicking in.

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

I seen 21-22, on 85DD, and 24 on 100Per, I was surprised my pyro was right at the red line though

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

As for your trans temp guage. Mine does'nt move at all. About 100-110 in 20 degree wheather here.

I've been told your trans temp will only be approximately 70* over ambient air temperature. If you want to see if its workin at all then drive it like hell until your guage starts movin.

And to back up CROWZ., in my Street and Race tune im max out at 21 psi. I've never seen more. Like he said, it just hits a brick wall.

The truck in my sig will hold 23-24 psi in a 40 tow setting with my dptuner with egt's around 1300. Now thats with a 12K lb toyhauler on it.

Trans temp should be 70-80 above ambient.

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

I think your boost numbers will depend on your exhaust. When I removed my muffler I gained 2psi (to 18). With my DP Tuner the truck makes 27psi.

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

I just hit 30psi yesterday with my dp tuner set at 140. My gauge only goes up to 30 so im thinking it might be time for a new gauge.

Re: Gauges finally installed..question?

My PHP 60 tow tune easily hit 22psi and never touched 1000F on the pyro.

Haven't had time to play with the others yet, other than watching the 140 spool the turbo to 26+ faster than I though they could...

With a stock turbo, most tunes should keep the pressure under 25psi.
