Anybody running twins with a 38R? What atmospheric Turbo?

Curious to see it anyone is running a set of twins, while utilizing the stock PSD mounting location (GTP38R), plus another turbo of your choice. What Atmospheric turbo would be best to run for a towing type set-up? Will the 38R even hold-up? This is something I have always wondered. Thanks.

Re: Anybody running twins with a 38R? What atmospheric Turbo?

Charles has a Garrett 47 over a 38r 1.15. Same style truck as yours. Running some 300/300 (may not be exact on nozzle size) from Swamps.

If you are seriously planning twins, give some thoughts to your choice of rods in your sig. Not saying they wouldn't last. Just with all the expense of tearing down motor and getting a set of twins, why skimp on rods?

02-350. CCSB - Drivetrain by Stauffer, fuel by Swamps, air by Barder, tunes by Gearhead.
04-250. ECSB - In the shop...7.3 swap.

Charles runs a compound setup with a GT47 as an atmosphere and a 38R as a manifold charger. I don't have the link to the post - but I know he has described his setup in numerous posts - I think he even had a parts list posted.

With a body lift, do ya'll think it could be done without deleting the A/C??

Re: Anybody running twins with a 38R? What atmospheric Turbo?

Im not planning anything. Just some food for thought. I searched a little, but didn't come up with anything.

Im sure it can be done without removing the A/C.

On the Rod choices, Adding twins doesn't mean your gonna go all out on HP, just some cool towing EGT's, and almost no smoke.

A 500hp PSD with twins sounds like the dream towing set-up. (to me at least).

Its awfully tight..... If you relocated enough parts I am sure it can fit, but it all depends on how much you want to modify to make it work.

Re: Anybody running twins with a 38R? What atmospheric Turbo?

I've always been interested in the 38R/47 combo... But I don't want to have to buy a race truck or get rid of the A/C. What about a 2" body lift, moving components, and running two smaller diameter pipes to the large turbo?
