Boost

I threw a couple things on the the truck a coupel of days ago and didnt really pay attention to my guages. My boost is hitting 31 on a stock turbo. What do i need to so i dont blow it up, can it take that much pressure?

Re: Boost

i dont have a boost fooler on there, i think il just turn the "tuning" down so if i hammer it, nothing will blow.

Re: Boost

is the guage in the hose that comes putta the turbo? your truck shouldnt be hitting 31 if you dont have a boost fooler. it should defuel about 24 or so..

Re: Boost

i have the TS Performace MPD so i spliced the boost guage in to the map sensor. thats why i was asking because this truck will usally hit between 24 and 28 without tunning.

Re: Boost

Not that I'm an expert but I think pushing your stocker over around 28 psi is a recipe for disaster. I blew my stock turbo up on a long grade pulling my toyhauler. I was watchin the boost guage when it went. 30 psi for about 2 minutes then boom. I had an ATS housing and wicked wheel. Maybe back off the throttle a bit and try to keep it around 24 to 25 psi.
