V-Clamp Muffler?

I'm wondering if I can buy v-clamp ends to be welded on to my exhaust and muffler. I wanna set it up this way so that I can run straight exhaust with no muffler, then for emissions just to be safe, throw the muffler back on. This would seem to be the easiest and simplest way to do so, just switchout straight pipe with muffler.

Anyone here run anything like this? If so how do you like it and post a pic if you got it please. I like the sound of my Magnaflow muffler and it is straight through with baffle but wanna run straight pipe whether I gain anything or not, which I'm pretty sure I wont other than noise.

I have used the V-band flanges from this site, but they only go up to 4 inch. If you do a google search you can find lots of them that are larger.

I have that type of flange for the middle part of my downpipe, some pics are in my webshots. I got it off of eBay, the company had them in stainless, carbon steel, and aluminum. They also had the option of an o-ring for if you were using them in apps like intercooler piping and the prices were very reasonable.
