oil return on Hypermax pedistal

What is the best thing to use for a return line? I am changing around a Hypermax pedestal and collector that I have and am just going to bend some stainless tubing for an oil feed line but am unsure of what to use for a return. Does the line just push into the return port or can I thread something and put a fitting on it? I will be mounting an S475 with a T4 housing.

Re: oil return on Hypermax pedistal

You can put a fitting of some sort into the pedestal or just plug it and run the drain down to the hole with a soft plug in it in the middle of the valley. This hole was originally used for the mechanical fuel pump that was on the OBS trucks.

Personally I like the Hypermax kit where it has the solid tube with a flex section (pita to make it flex but it can be done) and it just slips through the pedistal with the o-ring seal. As long as you have the tube going straight down through the pedestal it will not leak.

You could just make it a solid tube on your setup. The only reason the Hypermax one has a flex section is to allow a little adjustment tweaking by the installer.

Re: oil return on Hypermax pedistal

Thanks. I'll get it all mocked up and then figure out a return. Or just order a return line from Hypermax.
