Re: WasteGates, school me.

I am interested in this as well.
wouldn't a smaller housing plus a wategate give you the same topend with quicker spool up, as a bigger exauste housing the no wategate. or am I looking at it all wrong?

Re: WasteGates, school me.

You won't have the same top end if you go to a smaller exhaust housing, it would spool faster though.

Re: WasteGates, school me.

Just get the right turbo for the job in the first place. This aint no gasser #### that you just throw on and make it work.

Re: WasteGates, school me.

So what's the right charger to get for the application then?

Truck pulls, drags, drives and even tows still.

why not? the wheels are staying the same. isn't the point of the bigger housing to give the excess exhaust gasses more room to get out, wouldn't the waste gate do the same thing.

I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about turbos, just trying to learn here.

Variable, you will never find one charger to do all that. You will have to make a compromise somewhere with a single, the gate can help with making it live.

But with 20 stages of N2O, you have to run a gate. The reason you fragged your charger is because you plain and simply OVERSPED it.
