you never really stated what happened. is it the stock motor? how many miles?

I would find ask who assembled it the following...

what was the piston protrusion?

what were the intake valve recess measurements?

what were the exhaust valve recess measurements?


the cracked blind holes were not from "too much" silicone in the holes...it was from that chit being in the holes at all...the silicone goes around the holes.

The motor is a 7.3 with 126k miles! The problem started with one bent push rod and then a knock in the bottom end! I then decided to pull it back out to check everything out again!

I assembled the engine originally! The heads were rebuilt, the pistons were never removed! I need to contact the machine shop to get the specs for my heads! I believe with the specs a better diagnosis of what happened will present itself!
