DI Headers

I was wondering what the opinions of you guys out there that have a set of these on there daily driven truck was. I'm thinking about getting a set, but I want to make sure they hold up as far as cracking warping ect. I also would like to hear what you think of the performance gain. David told me you should have a noticable improvement in spool time and have an incraese of power through the power curve. Thanks!

Zack

Re: DI Headers

I like my headers

They are not on a stree truck though - but spool up was better, and they held up to high temps very well. Plus you gotta love that sound!

Watch the wheel well in the video for EGT verification:

I did that every week - sometimes several times a week for two years with those headers. No cracks, no warping.

Re: DI Headers

Thats crazy hot

Blowby has a set on his truck, its not neccessarily daily driven but it's seen some street miles and heat cycles. I would think in a drag race/sled pull alplication where the heat cycles are severe Cold, To EXtREME hot back down to cold would be harder on them that daily driving. just me though.

Nice vid BTW

couple trucks one fast one not

Re: DI Headers

I love the sounds of my headers. and i agree better spool up. I have only had my headers since the beg of march and have had no issues yet.

P.s- I also have a few videos of my headers glowing orange from sled pulls, just none up loaded, im on dads laptop, my computer crashed.

Re: DI Headers

HotRod Tractor that video is rediculously awsome! Thanks for the input. I plan to use them on my daily driver and just want to make sure they hold up. David seems pretty cool about standing behind them. They look like a work of art! Do you have the bellowed up pipes?

You doing a full build? I would go with his up-pipes as well.

Re: DI Headers

Looks like I'm going for about the same setup as you have. Currently I have:

Truck is a 2000SD with forged rods
Fully built JW tranny
Gear Head programmer
4 inch exhaust
Bully Dog intake ($hitty I know, but it was already there)
itp cross over and pre-pump kit

This Winter looking to go:

238cc 80%nozzles
head studs
port heads while I'm there
910 springs
pushrods
spearco
headers

I'm looking for that 500hp daily driver/still can tow truck
What do you think of the game plan?

That should run nice...... I picked up my ARP's and Forged Rods from David this past weekend. I hope to buy a set of Bellowed up-pipes from him before I pull my engine for the rod swap.

You gonna do all that on a stock Turbo?
