What do tool do I need to check my rods?

I have an 2001 built 10/10 2000. I have been looking for the thread that tells you how to make a tool out of square stock, but I can't find it. I have found treads that go to DI website to tell you how to do it, but that web page will not open. I know need square stock, but what size do I need to get? I need to change my oil and I thought I would do it at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
