Charge Air Temp Gauge

Does anyone make a charge air temp gauge? I was thinking of just using a water temp gauge but not sure how well it would work.

Re: Charge Air Temp Gauge

Water temp gauge won't read high enough. I use a digital EGT guage with pyrometer in the Y right after Compressor output, and use a standard temp gauge in the Y right befor the intakes. I have seen Comp air temps getting close to 450 *F.

Re: Charge Air Temp Gauge

I have one after the intercooler in the intake Y. Its not worth the money, I was curious, and I seldom see over 100 degrees at full boost. Was a waste of $200.

Re: Charge Air Temp Gauge

I have the Autometer Two-Stage Air Temp guage w/ Max Temp Recall. I did some testing on DI's IC in April 2006. One sensor pre and one post IC. Worked great.

I will be putting it on again to check stage I and stage II temps from the turbos as soon as the snow melts.

Re: Charge Air Temp Gauge

Thanks guys. I wanted to check first and second stage temps and with the 2nd stage not being cooled I wanted to see just how hot it got. My guess is probably around 3-400* so I might do an air to water ic.

Re: Charge Air Temp Gauge

you could just get you a fluke 51 and buy a couple air probes or just buy the air probes and hook up to a digital multimeter that has a k or j thermocouple plug it would be less money there if your just doing it for testing

spatechnique makes one that is a 2 channel but its like $350
