boost pressure with edge evo2

i installed a evo2 and using the obd port the boost only reaches 17 psi is that right for a stock 7.3? even on race tune still 17 pounds.

It's because the edge uses an electronic connection to read boost.

If I have AE hooked up, the electronic boost matches my boost gauge pretty well right up to 17, then it stops and the boost gauge continues to climb.

You're probably actually attaining more boost. You just won't see it without a mechanical gauge.
