Re: Turbo timer

I use the one from BD. I bought them through Thoroughbred Diesel. I have them on both of my 7.3's. It's pretty easy to install and your can set it to a specific time or to an egt setting if you have a pyrometer.

Re: Turbo timer

Why not just watch the Pyro for just a few seconds?

Re: Turbo timer

I originally put a timer on the Excursion because it didn't have a pyrometer and I couldn't get my wife to wait for it to idle down to a cool temp. This way she just locks the truck and goes. I later put one in my truck because when I get to my job sites I don't want to sit and wait, and then my workers end up sitting and waiting on me. It's also pretty cool when you get out and you are talking to a customer and your truck shuts off and they look at you funny and say " did your truck just turn itself off?".

Mine can take minutes to get below 400*. I just use my astrostart and kill it after 5 min or so.

Re: Turbo timer

Another option is to use the ISSPRO Output Driver Module in conjunction with an EV2 pyrometer. You can route your ignition circuit through the relay on the module, and program it to shut off below a certain EGT.
