175 80 injectors

i just ordered 175 80 injectors from p.i.s. the other day and im having gear head retune my chip. i was wondering, how long do you guys suppose my stock turbo with the ww2 will last with these injectors? also, do you think a hpop/fuel system upgrade will be needed? i already have a built trans from diesel site, s&b intake and 4" exhaust.

Re: 175 80 injectors

turbo will depend on how many times you push it to 30 psi..will not be hard to do with them sticks....HPOP should be ok if its healthy now..i would go with a full regulated return and doing the intank mods are a must if you haven't done them already...

Early 99 7.3 F350 auto,TN T-4 mount with a s467 for air,H-11's stud's SRP 1.1 for oil all supplied by unlimited diesel..beehives, DI push rod's, new alliant 315/200 hybrids,Driven diesel fuel system with a fuel lab 41401. ...tuned by Gearhead..

Re: 175 80 injectors

I can hit 32 psi with my stock injectors already, i didnt think it was hard on it till like 37 psi? Im not too worried about blowing it, itll just give me an excuse to get a 38r or something.

Any idea on what numbers this setup could make? with the fuel system of course.

Re: 175 80 injectors

It's hard on it anytime after like 25psi. I don't see how u can get 32 out of stock injectors.

Re: 175 80 injectors

Turbo won't last long with that kind of fuel, unless you baby the truck. But you won't want to do that after you feel the power you have on tap.

Start saving for a turbo upgrade. 38R at the minimum, but a T4 or T4i style turbo would suite you better since they can be modified and you have many sizing options. While that kind of setup may cost more than a 38R, you will be happier with the truck. We carry the H2E and Bell HFSB turbos, both of which are T4i style. A Bell HFSB and 175/80's is a killer combo. Jody (our tuner) has run that combo and live tuned it many times. He is a big fan.

Re: 175 80 injectors

i wanted to go with with the bell hfsb..but i cant really push any more power into my truck than what these 175 80 injectors will push unless i do rods too... so being as im probably not going to put rods in, and wont need a bigger turbo than 38r most (most likely) that will probably be the rout i go. i really with i had forged rods cuz i woulda got way bigger injectors and turbo haha.

i talked to clay from riff raff and he said the fxr should work fine with these injectors. anyone have any real experience with it to know for sure how the fuel pressure will hold up with that? i am doing the hutch mod aswell.
