What a burnt TC looks like

Just pulled apart my old single disc billet TC that i had sitting under the bench. guy said it could handle 700# of torque. guess not. the fluid (as you can tell) was black. sorry, forgot to get pictures of the purple billet face on the outside.

I'm sure the fins aren't supposed to look like that

just as i dis-assembled it. yes, it was sitting there like that.

other side of whatever piece that was...

If i recall, i thought there was supposed to be some fiberous material in there somewhere.

If you're curious as to what caused this? the alignment pins fell out after pulling the trans the second or third time (lost count). well, during a trip of pulling a kubota tractor, the pump burnt up due to the misalignment, and so on down the line as you can see. temps were in excess of 260*

Re: What a burnt TC looks like

pretty much said fuk it. i had to get the machine to the jobsite, and did my best to hit all the green lights. really had no choice at that point, and knew it was already done in. that was over the summer. since then i've had a triple disc billet low stall, no problems at all and i beat on it pretty good.
