wastegate

hey guys. got the 99 ford f350. i was wondering what would happen if i unplugged the wastgate on this truck. its stock everything for now. but ive heard that if you unplug it, it acts like a boost fooler in a way. is that true

It doesn't act like a boost fooler but it will give you a couple extra pounds on your stocker and it will also lead to a bad turbo down the road.

yea i thought it would make the turbo go sooner. and ive also heard it would make it smoke a lot?? is that true. not really lookin to waste fuel. to expensive. but exactly where is the waste gate plug located on the early 99

Look to the right of the turbo and you'll see the red hose plugged into the wastegate actuator...If anything it should clear up the smoke a little bit but not much at all.

smoke is generally because there is no boost so with all the fuel and not enough air it isnt all burnt up causing smoke. unhooking the wastegate will do nothing but maybe add a couple pounds deff wont add smoke. imo it will probly just surge more and overboost and blow the seals but i ain't no expert...
