inconsistene throttle response

Anyone know why my throttle might surge at times when i'm driving under normal conditions, and act differently at times when starting off? sometimes I'll have to push the pedal to get any response, and others, like at a stop sign, i'll barely touch it before almost hitting the guy in front of me.

deep down i'm hoping its an injector issue that will give me an excuse to switch them out that much faster...

Re: inconsistene throttle response

I would think it is the accelarator pedal. I've heard some guys talking about it, and how to fix it, but I am not for sure. Someone will chime. But Im pretty sure its the pedal.

Re: inconsistene throttle response

Have you checked for codes? What mods do you have?

Sounds like a bad throttle pedal. What voltage is the throttle pedal reading?

Re: inconsistene throttle response

back when i did my transmission conversion i checked the voltage at the pedal and it was within the tolerances, checked against another truck as well. that was back in May though.

mods:

dp tuner-80e is the normal tune its on the most
wicked wheel
tymar intake
built trans
4" exhaust
203 thermostat

pretty much everything i could think of that would affect it, nothing else really.

waitin on some $$ to come in to drop on some swamps single shots

Re: inconsistene throttle response

Tranny conversation? All of what posted would have been helpful in your first post. So with that said, which way to an auto or to a manual?

I need to ask some questions to be able to help you. Has this been going on since May? I am assuming you put an auto PCM in or it would not shift at all? Are you using something to control the tranny other then the chip? PCS? Dd you get your chip directly from us? I can have Jody look at your tunes if you did.

Re: inconsistene throttle response

i went to an auto from a manual. put in an entire wiring harness and stock automatic PCM. sent my chip back to jody to have it re-burned for the auto, as well as added a couple tunes. i can't specifically remember if i told him i put a low stall triple disc TC in though.

I just noticed the problem in the past day or two, never ahd it before.

To avoid avoid shipping your chip back right lets' do what the consensus is saying. Double check the TPS if its been since May that you last checked it.
