I recently purchased an 01 7.3 with 200k miles. I'm getting around 13 mpg
The truck has a 3" lift with 34x14x20 tires. Stage 2 turbo, air intake, superchip, and exhaust. I baby the truck and keep the chip on the economy setting. Is this mileage normal? How much should I get? What can I do to increase mpg?
Cleaning EBPS Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor on 7.3l Ford ... You can try doing this and it might help some. But my truck in my Sig probably gets around the same as yours right now. But maybe if you had different gearing with the tire n wheels set-up you have it might help?
01 powerstroke stock other than 35s and leveling kit 280000 and counting
I'm running 315/75/16's 373 gears. 348 or so with the equation. No take off power at all but I'm running basically stock with 4" downpipe and upgraded tranny. No tuner! I took my ebp tube out and plugged the hole. Ran a tube from sensor to tee in MAP. It helped a little with mpg. If I run 65 on interstate I get @21. Around town normal I haven't checked it but it gets really close to my 2wd 4.3 s-10. It Avis 17 overall.
Usually tuners and chips do best in street tow setting. Have you tried that? What air intake? And don't use the lifetime, not enough air. Fuel mods can help a lot. I use Archoil fuel and oil additive I swear I picked up 2 mpg just with that. I'm sure rev-x or some others are just as good. Not the crap advance sales.
I run 35s with 3.73 gears and a 6.5 inch lift and get all around 17.0 to 17.2 mpg with the 80hp flash tune. Also have 4 inch turbo back exhaust, 6637 filter set up, and hutch mods done. You should be a bit better then what your getting especially being light on the foot.
