Re: in line fuel filter

That pfd was hard for me to follow.... So he added an inline filter between his aux tank and oem?

Re: in line fuel filter

I had an aux tank that gravity fed into my stock tank on my last truck. I put an inline filter between the two as the aux tank had some rust in it.

Re: in line fuel filter

This is known as the pre-pump mod, here are more discussion of it on this site: https://powerstrokenation.com/forums/...archid=1746749

It's pretty easy to do whether it's a 7.3 or 6.0 since I've done both. The difference between the 7.3 and 6.0 is the 7.3 pump vs. the 6.0's HFCM, but the fuel line connections are the same. Both of us replaced the fuel line from the tank and to the pre-pump filter to the pump/HFCM to get rid of the quick disconnects that can leak air under vacuum.

Here's a ready made kit from ITP Diesel for the 7.3: http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php/products/73L_TankKit; it will fit the 6.0 too, but you won't need the Hutch mod stuff for the 6.0.

The hard part is taking down the tank, once you do that, it's just plumbing plus a little mechanical installation for the filter head.

If you're having trouble following the .pdf, just ask. The confusion might be that I have four fuel filters on my truck, one between the aux fuel tank and the OEM fuel tank, one between the tank and the HFCM/pump plus the two OEM fuel filters. Clear as mud?

Hope this helps.
