600 hp shorty build

What's it take to make 600 hp on a early 99. I'm doing a 2wd reg cab shortbed build. It's all stock except cut down 13 " behind the wheel and cut 5" in front of the wheel and the axle moved forward 5". I'm wanting to keep the 7.3 instead of a cummins conversion. How about the p pump mechanical conversion, I would like 600 or so, I was told the manual trans was 275 h.p, so guess 325 more should do.

There are some doing it on stock bottom ends. Some say ok some say it'll blow. You'll need, oil, turbo, fuel, clutch alot more parts and alot of money. There are alot of guys on here running 600 horse power set ups. Do you have any current mods or is it bone stock?

If this is strictly a fun street truck, 600 is not out of reach. At minimum you need head studs, valve springs (maybe a little porting would do you some good), injectors, big oil, and a 74-76mm turbo. Since it is an early 99 you will need some small pieces off a later model truck like the intakes.

Give swamps a call they can hook you up

a setup basicly like mine has proven over 600 on a dyno!

I havent tryed it yet

If you still want more they are working on CR and p-pump conversions

The wheelbase on a mustang doesn't match that of your truck for a reason. Shorter vehicles are generally faster, and more fun to drive. Not only do they weigh less, but they have improved weight transfer.
