Nitrous on a stock motor

What shot of nitrous is good on a truck with the stock injectors, basic intake, exhaust, 6 pos chip on the 140hp mode? In that mode I am dumping black smoke so I'm sure there is fuel available to be burned. Would a 100 dry shot clear this up or is that too much? Thanks

i would run around a 75 jet i did it for years with no problem but you may have to adjust as necessary to get it to your liking

2000 PSD 6" lift, 35" bfg TKO, 6" stacks, pro comp traction bars, 238 hybrids with 200% nozzles, k&n cold air, s476, irate t4, head studs, TDP custom chip, FASS SYSTEM,ITP fuel bowl delete and regulated return, 20* swamps hpop, custom transmission, chromoly axles, chromoly push rods and high rev springs from Carson Stauffer, and some giggly juice

Re: Nitrous on a stock motor

Well since you have not provided any vital information on your truck the answer is difficult.

With "PMR's" Don't do it!

With "Forged Rods" you can add a little maybe a .030-.040 (with adjusted programing) but it will probably not clean up all the smoke and the cylinder pressure will cause problems you don't want.

So it's best to not use it unless the engine is set up for it.

Re: Nitrous on a stock motor

Thanks for the info. Although I know the stock injectors aren't good for much more then 300HP. Since it is pumping black smoke out in 140mode I know the turbo isn't supplying enough air to burn all the fuel up. So I just wanted to use a small shot to clear that up and balance it. It is a forged rod motor late 99

Re: Nitrous on a stock motor

perhaps you should try to diagnose your black smoke issue. you should be cleaning it all up.

Stockers can make more than 300. Maybe you should look into a turbo. Unless its just that badazz NOS sticker you want.
