7.3 econoline van performance products?

I had a 2003 f250 with intake, exhaust and an Edge computer and loved the power! Well, the trucks long gone and am looking to purchase an Econoline van. Lo and behold they also offered them with a 7.3! So I called Edge Products, they said they don't support the Econoline so if there's an issue with the CTS computer it's all on me. He also went on to say that he has heard that it works but could not confirm.
Does anyone offer a performance computer for these vans? Any other performance engine parts for 'em? A straight pipe no cat exhaust is pretty simple to do, but what about an intake?
Obviously the truck platform is far more popular, was just hoping some of the 7.3 performance goodies would apply to the van as well.
Oh, and this is what I'm gonna do to it, actionvansuspension.com

Re: 7.3 econoline van performance products?

There are some performance products that are interchangeable with vans. Many chips (6 position chip, PHP hydra, etc.) will all work with vans and many tuners that work with these chips (DP, PHP, Unlimited, Wildman, ETC.) are much better than Edge anyhow.

Diamond Eye does make a full 4" exhaust for vans but there are no aftermarket intakes out there. If you want to do things on the cheap, the muffler on the van has the most restriction, just get rid of it and replace it with a strait pipe or flow threw muffler.

If you want to go crazy a nice set of 160/30 injectors with a water/methanol injection system would take you even further. Of course you can't forget a BTS transmission to compliment the added parts.

2001 Ford E350 7.3 Extended Cargo Van

BTS Transmission, PHP Minotaur package, 4" exhaust/downpipe, FRX, AIH delete, Fuel bowl mod, Hypermax Boost/Pyro gauge, sloted Frozen Rotors, 4.10 rear w. LS, 350-1200SD front coil springs, Stiff Bilsteins shocks.

Then there was that guy with the white van that ran 13.50s with stageIIs and a H2e. Dont know much else about it though except I think it was somebody on here that helped him build it.

are the vans around the same weight of a pickup? ive always wondered about that. either way, you dont see people modding their vans much, and i think its a pretty cool idea. good luck

Vans are lighter, that's why a stageII van can run 13.5s.

Re: 7.3 econoline van performance products?

We have a lot of van customers. Check out what we have to offer for them HERE.

They are a little bit different than trucks as far as performance goes due to the lack of an intercooler, but you can still give them quite a bit of pep. Nothing like driving a van with ~400HP, that is for sure .
