Tired of my Tranny crossmember!

Anyone else out there tired of looking at that huge trans crossmember hanging down under their obs?I am a welder fabircator by trade and i am about to build my own out of 1/2" plate.that will also double as a skid plate.I will post pics when i start this project.

I don't see any benefit in doing this.

1997 F-250, D60, 8in lift/38s, OUO ladder bars, BTS, Spearco 6.0 IC, SRP 1.1, Irate 468 turbo, Dyno proven tunes, P.I.S 300/200s, ARPs/910s/Smith bros push rods, A1000/sump.

It may do more then support the tranny...
been a while since I have seen one but you may allow a bit for frame strength etc.
just my two pesos

Early 99 f350 4x4 crew cab, auto. pmt2 pcm

it will be stronger than the stock one + better gound clearance.thats 2 benefits

I've never seen a broken or bent cross member. I've also never had any ground clearance issues, but then again I don't rock climb with with truck. It's your truck do what ever you want, I just don't see why. The stock cross member works just fine.
