Purchasing a 75hp single ts chip

So the question is my buddy accidently bought a single program 75hp ts chip for his truck and he went ahead and bought the 6 program one cause that's the one he wanted. He said he'll sell me his single 75hp ts chip but his is a 2000 7.3l 6 speed manual and mines a 99 6 speed manual I'm wondering will it be the same and work fine for my truck?

Re: Purchasing a 75hp single ts chip

check to see if your pcm codes match. If its an xle4 or xle7 it probably wont work.

E99 7.3***230/100 PIS sticks***swamps tuning*** 4" mbrp***t500 HPOP***6637 filter***BTS valve body***racerx torque convertor***di reg return***walbro fuel pump***20x10 fuel hostages with Nitto 305 terra grapplers

It will have to be the same PCM code as his truck?

no, the DPC numbers will need to match.

ie, all late 99 through 2001 (auto's) share the DPC code...so the chips are interchangeable.

same with L99-01 Manuals.

same with 2002-2003 (auto to auto or manual to manual)

E99 auto's and E99 manuals are their own DPC, only interchangeable with other E99 (auto to auto or manual to manual).

California truck/vehicles throw a wrench into all the above...but for federal/non cali trucks...the above is true.

I'm not sure if I just want the single 75hp tune!? Anyone see any problems daily driving with that? Also I think I'm just gonna try it out to see if it works? Could there be any harm by doing that?

My tryck has a chip similar to that i think and i have no problems dding, it doesn't smoke unless its in the high rpm range so its not all that bad and it gets pretty good mileage.
