Question Hydra Users Please Fill Me In On How You Like It.

I was going to get new custom tunes emailed from Johnathan at Dynoproven. But after kicking around Im contemplating buying a PHP Hydra. Id like to hear from people running the Hydra. I know its a bargain for what they are asking. I also have read countless threads about how great Bills tunes are, and the customer service is top notch etc... Please let me know how you like their tunes and interface.

I was between Hydra or DP. After reading and talking to a lot of people I'm leaning more towards the Hydra now. I'll be sure to fill you in if I ever get the tuner, lol.

Re: Hydra Users Please Fill Me In On How You Like It.

I'm running the Hydra in my 2002 and my brother has an older DP F4 in his 03, both have a 7.3 The Hydra is waaaay better in every way and my brother agrees. The shifts are smoother and less harsh than his plus the power comes on way more linear and doesnt cause the bump throttle like his does. There isnt anything wrong with the DP but the Hydra is just a more factory type feel to it with all the same power gains.

Re: Hydra Users Please Fill Me In On How You Like It.

i just installed mine yesterday and so far love it, big improvement even on the "stock" tune. shifts quickly (about 1600 on the daily driver and stock tunes(higher on tow tunes))

my truck is mostly stock, just intake, down pipe, IDM mod, and E-fuel, and i noticed a big dif. in throttle response.

and customer service has been great when ive called PHP about some questions ive had.

and some people ask, "why do you need a chip that holds more than 6 tunes....??"

its not so much "needing" more than 6 tunes, its the ease of tuning. and ability to try diferent tunes w/o having to send your chip back to have new tunes put on it.
