QSSB turbo questions

Does anyone sell this turbo anymore? Does it use the t4 or t4i mount. After doing a fair amount of research it looks like this is the perfect turbo for me. Thinking about eventually going with 160/30 or 175/80 for a fun daily driver that can haul a largish 5er to the mountains. Heard this turbo lights like a 38r but has lower drive pressures thus making it great for long heavy pulls through steep grades. Plus, its rebuildable. Any info I can get would be great. Thanks!

Re: QSSB turbo questions

FYI, the billet wheels reduce drive pressures on the 38r to damn near a 1:1 ratio. My drive pressure is about 44psi at 38 psi of boost.

Your not helping. I have pretty much talked myself out of a drop in. Never the less, good info about the billet wheel/38r combo. I will still keep that in mind. Thanks!

Re: QSSB turbo questions

QSSB is a great turbo and a good choice for your wants/needs. BTW, it is a T4i style mount.

I was seriously thinking about yours but after doing some research I am not sure it is the right turbo for me. I don't know if I will ever run hybrids and read that it is a little laggy with smaller injectors (correct me if I'm wrong). If I was planning on eventually running hybrids then I would probably make you an offer. I like the idea of a QSSB since unmoded it falls in between an H2E and a modded H2E and can be further modded to a GQSSB if needed. Plus it will spool like a 38r with AC codes and has the low drive pressure of a modded H2E (or close to it). The other thing is I have a PMR motor and not sure when I will secure a good lowish milage forged rod block. I have a stick so a turbo that lights a little easier/sooner makes for a more enjoyable experience.

I thought it was a T4i but wasn't completely sure. Thanks!

Re: QSSB turbo questions

Bruce,

Would you be willing to just sell the mount you have available? If yes, how much would you want? Thanks!

Re: QSSB turbo questions

Does anyone know how a HFSB would compare to a QSSB on spool up with 160/30 or 175/80's?
