What boost should I have with 230/100 injectors?

I just installed 230/100s and a 38r billet wheel turbo. Right now the boost sits around 40 to 44 in the high rpms.. I was thinking about setting the wastegate so the boost is around 38. Getting it live tuned at dynoproven next wednesday so i want everything set right. What do you guys think? Thanks.

That's a lot of boost for a 38r. Granted I pushed mine just as hard, iirc, much over about 30 psi, 38r's aren't doing much but blowing hot air. And I too would like to know what happened with the 6.4 turbos

But as far as boost goes, that sounds normal for those injectors

40psi is the top edge of the 38r's range. What's your back pressure readings and EGT's at 40-44 psi of boost?

I got rid of that truck over a year ago. Didnt have a way to measure backpressure, but im sure it was high, egt's could get pretty damn hot if I stood on it, 16-1700ish iirc

30 psi tests the limits of the stock gtp38, not the 38r.

Re: What boost should I have with 230/100 injectors?

It was only around 38psi boost until i put the beans billet wheel in. Backpressure is hard measure because the gauge keeps bouncing around. but id say its around 55psi.

The 6.4 turbos just had to much back pressure to boost for the 7.3 to handle. Apparently 6.4s can 70 psi of back pressure a lot better then a 7.4. I even put a 72mmm low pressure turbo in but did not do a thing for back pressure. I think the turbine on the high turbo is way too small for a 7.3. They could probably work if there was a wastgate between the two but I got sick of screwing with them.
