Did your turbo get louder with RR billet wheel?

My turbo got a lot louder after riffraff billet wheel install.. It actually sounds like a boost leak in low boost in overdrive. I've looked for leaks but haven't found any. I easily can get 26-28lbs boost and egt's are ok. Anyone else seem louder? Thanks

Just out of curiosity...why the billet wheel? Your sig says you have an E99. You should already have a "wicked wheel" from the factory? Could that have anything to do with the sound?

Unless you're like me and have a e99 production date with a late 99 motor.

E99 with 99.5 motor 7.3 (from factory) ZF6 Ext Cab/ Long Bed. 6637 mod. MBRP 4". Auto Meter Ultra Lite II Pyro/Boost. PHP Hydra. Leveled on 35" BFG A/T's.

Dunmo why he did it, but the new WW2 and RR billet wheel builds more boost and spins up faster

The factory ww isn't a performance item.. It was only made to fix surge.. The Billet wheel woke the truck up but it's louder than I expected. Got a 7lb more boost than factory wheel

Re: Did your turbo get louder with RR billet wheel?

I just did the RiffRaff wheel last weekend, yes it did get louder, and when I'm cruising up a hill at about 10 psi it does sound like a boost leak. But like you said, I'm making 30 pounds of boost at WOT and EGTs are fine so I don't think I have a leak.

That billet wheel really did wake the truck up, great driveability improvement, especially while towing.

2001 F-250 7.3L auto

Suspension stuff, engine stuff, reliability stuff...
Some other stuff I'm forgetting...
