HELP stuck!!

Did this once before. Didn't have any info. Hasn't done it for a couple years. I am beside the road. My 99 F350 is spitting and studdering. The HPOP is showing 2700-2800 but my in IPR jumps from 30-40 to 60%...everything else reads normal. Ideas? Fuel filter is new as of 2 days ago and changed oil yesterday.

Re: HELP stuck!!

How filthy was the old filter? If it was a mess, you might have knocked a bunch of goo loose and into one or more injectors

Re: HELP stuck!!

It was really pretty clean. Didn't have any clogs or discoloration. I even drained the bowl. Drove 240 miles earlier and waited 4 Hrs. Now I'm driving the same 240 back. 120 miles into the trip back and now this.

Re: HELP stuck!!

Fired it back up after sitting about 10 minutes and its running rough but not trying to die. At WOT the IPR is 40-45% and HPOP is still holding 2800ish. Tranny temp good, oil level good, I'll pop the hood to check for a fuel leak from the bowl. But I suspect it will be fine. No puddles when I just stopped.

Re: HELP stuck!!

Last 120 miles...injectors sounded a tiny bit louder than usual. But ran fine, no hiccups. I'm at a loss. Another side note. When I was despise the road at rough idle. I floored it and there was a smokey haze coming out. But after the 10-15 rest period it ran a little rough and then smoothed back out. I'm completely lost.

Re: HELP stuck!!

I would Con-cur with MR. Andy I think you got something stuck in an injector, you might have worked it loose!

Re: HELP stuck!!

With the truck running, unplug one bank of injectors at the valve cover and compare how each side runs. That would help to see if it is injector related. If there is a difference, pull that valve cover and unplug one injector at a time.
