need advice on injectors and chip

I have a 97 F350 pretty much all stock excluding CAI. Motor has 244k on it and seems to be pretty strong. I will get a compression check done prior to upgrading but was wondering what would suit my needs the best.

I will use the truck primarily for towing racecar on the weekends. With that being said reliablity is number one priority. With that in mind I was going to replace the injectors and hpop, glow plugs, front end kit, add sd ic, ww2 wheel on a rebuilt turbo, and have a hydra chip installed.

Any other ideas for reliability only, vacuum pump went out about a month ago and of course I was about 9 miles from home when it happened, don't want to get stranded with a race car in tow!

Re: need advice on injectors and chip

If you're planning on towing a lot, and staying with the factory turbo I would go with a set of stage 1 injectors and tuning from Gearhead Automotive Performance. You will be happy with the increased power and it will not get too hot. I would also recommend at least putting a 3" downpipe in, and getting rid of that stock flat downpipe. It will help with throttle response, power, and EGT's. A set of gauges or an Insight monitor would be a plus also, at least to watch EGT's.

We have the injectors IN STOCK, with a lifetime warranty. I'm sure Gearhead could email you the tunes pretty quickly, they would just need your hydra serial number. Call us or email us if you have any questions. 740-569-1319 or [email protected]
