Edge CTS vs Torque app

Hey guys, I'm really trying to figure this out.

Is the Torque app with the Bluetooth OBDII Scanner just as accurate as the Edge CTS since they are both getting info through the OBDII.
Look at the price difference below.

Bluetooth scanner $12.30, Torque app $4.99, Fuel pressure gauge $140 EGT gauge $140 = $297.29

Edge CTS $359 , EGT cable $120, Fuel pressure gauge $140 = $619

Please tell me if I missing something.

Re: Edge CTS vs Torque app

You can always use an older phone/tablet for the app. And if you use the same account u can place it on more than one device if you ever deside to change your phone or whatever. Plus buzz testing is available on another app...could be coming to torque soon.

Mine yells at me on occasion when something wrong is happening lik too much skinny pedal. In that situation it's not like I can hear it anyway.

Guy I go to school with has a first gen iPad that he built a custom mount for in his ridgeline and he uses torque on it from time to time. Not that it's really needed but I guess he likes to know what certain things are doing on long trips.

Re: Edge CTS vs Torque app

Thanks

I've already ordered obdII reader and bought the torque app so now I just need to confirm that:

1) the torque app is just as accurate as the Edge
2) I'll just need to get an EGT and fuel pres gauge

Fyi, I have a '01, 7.3

Re: Edge CTS vs Torque app

they both read on board sensors PIDS via the OBD so they should be the same accuracy

you don't have a fule PSI nor EGT OEM sender so if you want those you need a standalone guage
