Dangit! One Wheel Peel.....

So as many of you know I took the lift off a few weeks ago. When I did this I swapped my 4.56 geared complete axles for a complete set with 3.73s as I would now be running 35s. Anywho, the rear axle I ended up with has a freakin open diff. NO LS.

I can fry my right side 35 even in my tow file. It will go straight to the rev limiter if I dont watch it. (bounced the tach a few times recently)

What is an inexpensive, but effective easy to swap in solution to my problem?

Truck runs awesome on the highway (love my tranny Slim hooked me up with) and will own anything just about in this area. (not a brag, just no hot trucks over here. lol)

Are you sure the clutches are not just worn? I would pull the cover and see what is in there.

Not sure Tony. I am ignorant when it comes to axles etc. I think I'll get it checked out.

Seems like Dalsf250 had an Auburn in the for sale section recently.

Cheap solution : Weld the spider gears together

Best solutioin: Detroit locker.

I have a detroit locker in mine, and everytime you even slightly touch the go pedal, they are locked. You can feel it in every turn when going from coast to on the throttle.

I dont have much faith in the factory limited slips, they always seem to wear out, and very quickly at that. I have had luck with EATON limited slips, they are fully rebuildable, and adjustable. I wouldnt waste the time putting in a factory LS, they just arent worth the trouble for me. Ive had my detroit in for a while, and just absolutely love its traction ability!

DRW and tow fast parts.......

What do you know about one wheel peels, you don't race.

Anywho it supposed to be a LS, jack up the rear and turn one side and see what happens.

Re: Dangit! One Wheel Peel.....

I could get a factory LS on the account (if I could) how hard would it be to install? Would you have to set the lash and crap up?

Hardy -har -har

With my old rear axle (sitting in your shop) never had this problem. With that one, both sides grabbed prolly 70% of the time. Think I got the short end of the stick. lol

Re: Dangit! One Wheel Peel.....

Easiest solution is to just change the axle fluid and don't add any modifier. Worked for my peg leg differential. It doesn't hop around turns, but it acts like a locked differential when i spin 'em, it's not one goes, then the other catches up, they BOTH unhook and go.
