TN T and SuperT series.

Ok, what are the options avialable? Start of with the T series. Housing, trims and such, flow data.

Then the SuperT for the more HP truck.

I have been to the Turbonetics web site and cannot find maps for these guys,

For example what does the map for a SuperT 72 look like with a divided exhaust housing with the diff A/R's available, what does it flow?

I want to keep this on topic, NO smack talk from other turbo brands.
We can readily find maps for the Garret turbos and such.

I don't :nutswinger: one way or the other, I just want to know what the options are.

i wish they would get their site back up w the maps!!! they used to have all of them then they redid it, it still says "coming soon"

i think the exhaust AR's available are .68, .81, and .96 for the t-series - i know they go bigger on super t and Y2K

honestly, i would call bunting or kevin tomorrow and talk to them, that might be easier then waiting for TN to get their site rolling

Re: TN T and SuperT series.

So what do "Q" and "P" mean exactly... A real number would be crazy I guess, lol.

All you need is the compressor map because whatever is going on with the wheel will show up on it. And the turbine housing obviously has no effect on the map, unless you're referring to the turbine map although Garrett is the only manufacturer I have ever seen list a map of the turbine flows.

Compressor maps are all you need. If you can find them you can size anybody's turbo for any application, then adjust the turbine housing A/R as needed in the field.

Re: TN T and SuperT series.

Durability can be enhanced greatly by ordering the “TUFF-TURBO” option for your new turbocharger. The “TUFF-TURBO” option is available for all T4 series, 60-1, and 62-1 turbochargers. This TURBONETICS exclusive option utilizes O, P, or Q trim turbine wheel shafts, and the “stagger gap” piston ring. Specially developed for competition applications, the “TUFF TURBO” option includes the “big shaft” with a larger bearing structure, larger thrust bearing and a left-handed nut. The “big shaft” virtually eliminates the destructive shaft motion normally associated with high boost. The “TUFF-TURBO” option is available with dynamic seal only.

Recognizing the need for a higher flow capacity turbine to match the capabilities of the 68-1 and the “T” Series compressor wheels, TURBONETICS has developed the “Q” trim. Incorporating all of the features of the “Tuff-Turbo” option, the “Q” trim represents the largest diameter turbine wheel that can be mated to a properly machined TO4B turbine housing. The result is a 12-15% increase in choke-flow limitation which significantly reduces turbine backpressure.

All this is older info, im not really sure how much of it is stilll current, or really if any of it relates to diesels at all.
