intercooler????

Just curious how much of a benefit it is going to a 6oh IC from the factory and if farther down the road it would need to be upgraded again? I want to build a good motor and I have my heart set on compounds and was just wondering if it would be worth it to go this route now.
Found a VERY good deal on one locally.

You will see a benefit with the mods you currently have. However you will outgrow it quickly if you are building a motor and going with big sticks and compounds. They are easy to sell once you have outgrown it..

Re: intercooler????

Well It all depends on how much air you want to flow. I went for the high end Spearco becsue I knew what my goal was. I'd like to get to about 700 = or - a few on Fuel only. What is your goal and what kind of twin setup do you think you'll run. If it a towing setup the 6.0 CAC my cut the mustard but if you want more than 500 or 600 HP got bigger.

The Lower the pressure drop across the CAC from the hot side to the cold side in PSI the better the CAC's efficiency. I think the max Pressure drop you would ever want to see is about 5 and the Spearco is less than 1.

Got Boost?

Re: intercooler????

well my goal is to run 12's, daily driver fuel only. I am not sure on the exact set up for the compounds but I am thinking about starting with the qssb from WOP.
Thanks for the input

I would agree with the deputy dog and the others. U will need a much bigger intercooler for what u are shooting for. Dont waste the little amount of money on the 6.0L IC

I got mine for $150 and it only had 5K on it. So yeah I would take it for that price! your basically getting a new intercooler for nothing!
