early 99 mods?

New to the whole diesel performance thing. I have a DIY intake and superchips tuner but looking to see what other mods I can do to it. Thinking about getting a DP tuner, as I've heard alot of good things about it. What about turbo/injectors/hpop? It seems like the early 99 is limited to modifications. I don't race the truck or antything just looking for a few more horsepower.

Thanks

First off, is it auto or manual? If auto get rid of the superchip it will eat your tranny. Next you can do the later 99 conversion of the intake manifolds and pedistal and get a GT38R or a stock 2000 turbo. Injectors i would do some hybrid 160 cc or DIY 160cc. HPOP you could do a twin 17* or just stick one 17* HPOP because yours has a 15*. Its really up to you and how deep your pockets are. If you did all that you would get around 380-400 hp with a DP or PHP tuner.

Exhaust and Intake is a must if not done already, get some gauges to monitor your temps.

Exhaust intake and gauges are the first 3 you need to do. Gauges are very important. I would get a chip with some good tunes and a VB from BTS if you have an auto. You are only as limited as your pockets let you be. Look here in the classified section there is always good stuff for sale.

If your staying stock or up to stage 2's,a D66 is a drop in and flows some air
http://www.beansdieselperformance.co...es/cat_65.html. not as durable as GTP38R but a nice piece for a DD.

you also need up pipes, Ypipe for the 99+ conversion

Re: early 99 mods?

Already have exhaust, intake, tranny gauge, and boost and pyro ready to be installed.

How hard is to convert it to 99+? How much cost too?

Re: early 99 mods?

If you are planning on going with injectors up to a stge II go with the D66 dont convert it. If your going to go with anything bigger then stage IIs just go with a H2e Hypermax kit and be done worrying about the turbo.

The conversion to 99.5+ is not bad, you can get it done in one day if you have all the parts. A second pair of hands helps ALOT!

You can stay with you r early 99 setup and still run hybrids. Youll need a super d 66 to do so. Talk to Unlimited Diesel. Theyll help you out!
