Parts swap issues!?

I am ready for the many slaps in the face so here goes...

Doing a swap in an early 99. Long block is out of my dad's 02. What is not gonna fit? Did some reading in the forums and found there were quite a few more differences than what I thought.

Re: Parts swap issues!?

your intake plenums, intake manifold, turbo pedistal, turbo, and uppipes are the majority of differences, unless you can snag that stuff from the 02. Nothing that isnt bolt on/off.

Re: Parts swap issues!?

So it all bolts up in the same places, just different sizes(intake, turbo, etc.)?

If you swap all the parts from your 99 onto the 02 motor that don't look the same you'll be golden. What the guys stated above are what needs swapped, not really a big deal if you've got the motor out.

Re: Parts swap issues!?

yeaaa, if its on the engine stand, forged rods are too easy to comeby to transplant a pmr'd engine in to anything...

is your motor shot , mia etc..
if not switch the hpop, injectors, turbo and all its related stuff onto your block.

stick with the hard parts ..pcm's are different , gauge cluster is different..
e99 had no aih ,..foiled pipe ic will be diff as well.

and as mentioned pmrs will suck

Got new headstuds w/ master kit. I think I'll just go rob a 99.5 or < for the parts I need. (salvage or part out) Somebody said something about PCM's being different. So, it won't work or the connectors on the harness are diff? I'm confused. The e99 and 02 tunes from Ford are that much diff? I thought I had a sweet deal, but looks like I got some decisions to make.
