EARLY 99ers

To all the early 99 owners on here or anyone with knowledege on this turbo.

Who or does anyone on here run BDP Domminator 66 turbo?
It says with a stock turbo you run 750CFM and the d66 runs 1050 CFM.
And its claiming 100CFM over the H2E setup. Are these real acurate numbers given or just high ball numbers?

If anyone has any good input on this id appreciate it! Thanks!

Im running the d-66 on mine.I can tell a big difference in spool up and with the injectors Im running makes a good combination. As far as knowing numbers you need to talk to Bean (Beans Diesel Performance) he helped me out.

Re: EARLY 99ers

The D66 is mostly a modded Van Turbo in all truth but seem to work well & like any other stocker is rebuildable. Don't know but you might have some spool problems up in the hills.

Re: EARLY 99ers

You think the higher elevation is going to make harder spool ups? Has anyone had this problem?

It's all in the tunes. I'm travel from 8000 to 5280ft and back every day, then up over 10,000 and back down to 9000 on the weekends. Just back off the fuel and you are good. If you see heavy smoke and it lags, cut the fuel.

I don't know about you but I'm running out of places in my glove box to store injectors, head studs, new heads, up pipes, fuel pumps, ficms, and a lift to remove the cab.

Re: EARLY 99ers

Those are real numbers. The D66 is a great upgrade for the early 99 for a drop in turbo.

Re: EARLY 99ers

the d66 is the only drop in for an early 99.
they out flow a regular h2e but will not hold up well with large injectors.
stage 1 and 2 are great , b codes and big hybirds may be a bit much on it.
the h2e has a kit for early 99's from dieselsite and elsewhere but is 2x the cost.

Would small hybrids be ok to run on D66?

A few guys are out there running them, including rtxcoon and 3starJ.R. on this site. I think they've had good luck with them, the main thing is holding your boost psi down..

Re: EARLY 99ers

good question.

strokin early 99 ran bcodes on his truck for a year or so iirc.
howard did pulling comps etc..never had problems with it.
and said he liked it a lot. he went to a larger modded h2e and sold his d66 to another guy.
From what i recall it lasted a week or so, and he had beans do a rebuild on it .
So either it was a ticking time bomb, got damaged in the mail user install error etc who knows.

If it was me I would ask bean on the phone, since they sell injectors etc.
since all my info is second hand internet hearsay
