Got my new chip

Well my new chip from Matt at Gearhead arrived last week and i finally got time to install it last night after work. This was my first chip install like this and it still only took about an hour. I got one of his 8 position chips with no start, HI 900rpm, HI 1300rpm, heavy tow, tow/economy, street muscle, street fury, and all out. Right away i noticed how much smoother it runs compared to my edge chip. The transmission feels a million times better. Now i'm just waiting for the weather to warm up and the snow to melt so i can really see what the truck will do Thanks alot Matt. I love it

Edge chips dont mess with your tranny thats why they suck and the shift points are so bad.

Re: Got my new chip

The 8 Position Chips are just some I am trying out for the stock injector trucks. Trucks with injectors are still required to get the regular TS style chips out of loyality to the vendor's software by which the tunes were created.

I saw the new chips at DFT dot com. Neato. What kind of switch is it? The listing says "twist of a knob", but not sure whether it's the same switch as the 6-pos. or not.

Re: Got my new chip

it is nearly the same switch with a longer shank and smaller knob. I won't be using them for anything but stock trucks for security reasons and vendor loyality. I am using them only for the tunes I developed with the sniper software. aftermarket injectored trucks will only use the ts 6 position chips because they were developed with PHP software. There is a signature buried in the hex code of each of these anyway so if these tunes found themselves in the open, I would know where they originated.....lol

YOU ARE AWESOME, Matt! (Not that we didn't think so before, of course...) It's very uplifting to see someone with your integrity.

Kudos for being such a great person.
