I would also be interested in those that have built their own instead of buying a kit, as far as price, parts and pictures.

Re: coolant filter

there's a 3/8" NPT pipe plug on the side of the WP/front cover, mount filter base where you want, install a fitting there and a line to the filter base. then install a line from the filter base to the degas bottle line that comes out the side and curves around to the radiator. voila, coolant filter.

Re: coolant filter

Here's the Dieselsite.com 7.3 coolant filter link with pics: http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...WPROD&ProdID=8

As far as doing it yourself, it's not hard: Napa 4019 coolant filter head, cost + $25 or so, plus Wix/Napa 24070/4070 coolant filter. The rest is hose and fittings.

I did it my way for my '98 Dodge Ram with the 5.9l gasser. I bought the Dieselsite coolant filter kit for my '06 PSD. The Dieselsite kit was much easier and well worth the $25-$35 I might have saved. 30 minute install time easy. The 7.3 shouldn't be any harder.

Good luck.

Just ordered this kit yesterday from Dieselsite for the new motor! I'll post up pics when it's installed. Putting mine on the frame.
