Unhappy replace rear hpop only on dual.....

...pumps, in the truck? can it be done? i just blew the back fitting off the rear pump, and was wondering if you can just take that pump off and replace it? or do you have to remove the whole thing again?

i'd be sooooo much easier to just pull the back one off and replace.

any thoughts?

I am sure you could get it off but putting it back on will be the hard part. I would just pull both of them as an assembly and replace pump and reinstall as an assembly.

Any reason why you think it blew? What peak pressure were you, or had you been running recently?

Overtightened on assembly? I find them tight as hell all the time. Sometimes I think people forget it's ORB, and it's an aluminum case.... Some of them are about as tight as I would expect a pipe thread fitting to be in a steel manifold.

overtightened for sure. it was the only one i didnt have to tighten.

it was the first day i ran it with no oil leaks.(different story, stupid o-rings) so i finally got on it and stayed on it. didnt look at the pressure though.

but when it let go, i was just cruising @45mph on a flat road. and that was after about 50miles of driving.

and my o-ring problem was on the oil rail, not on the pump fittings.
