WW install help!!

I am trying to switch out stock wheel for the wicked wheel, well I cant get the stock wheel off. I have the compressor side off and sitting there by the turbo in the truck NOT touching the WW with the wastegate still attached. I took the DP off and and tried jamming the wheel with a screwdriver wrapped with a towel, and still couldnt get it. What shoudl I do next to get the wheel off? Should I use a ratchet and put more torque to it?

Thanks guys!

Re: WW install help!!

I did mine that way a while back and it came off rather easily. You don't want to lean on that too hard if it is still in the truck. I used a ratchet, but keep it down to 3/8s and give it a try. The turbine is pretty strong iconel metal and will not bend, but you don't want to put too much force or pressure on the bushings.

Re: WW install help!!

This might sound stupid but I DO want to go counter-clockwise to get it off right?

Not stupid. IIRC Yes, counterclockwise. When you spin the WW on, get it hand tightened. The wheel will tighten itself while running once you start driving the trruck

Re: WW install help!!

Got it! Thanks guys! Wierd thing though, when I test drove I had like no boost until it got completely warm. Then it was a beast like back to normal... Plus I think I fixed an exhaust leak, and that mother is loud! Should I be concerned with the no boost at first? It seemed like the EBPV was stuck open longer than normal.

Re: WW install help!!

Correction for you, the EBPV stays closed not open, when you start the truck in the cold, and I believe the EBPV will stay closed until the truck warms up (thats its purpose). I could be wrong, but from what i have read on here a while back i believe thats how it works. And for the no boost till its warm, i cant really help you, where about do you live and whats the weather/tempature like? When i first start my truck up and its cold for me, the truck is a slug and turbo lag is a while longer... Hope that helps a little

Re: WW install help!!

Yes, sorry it was closed. Wierd thing is I started it in a 75* garage, that I pulled in a few hours earlier after running at operating temp, and pulled it out in like 10* temps. Could this cause the EBPV to close?
