Pros to having factory forged rods?

i saw the sticky thread with the serial number so when to check mine out. so i did and it was in the first set, so i do have forged rods, i was just wondering how much better that makes it than the powered metal rods and what more it allows me to do.

Re: Pros to having factory forged rods?

possibly have a stronger rod to +/- 500 hp
depending on who you talk to , how the stars are aligned and
if you own a rabbits foot and any four leaf clovers.

a 99.5 def should be forged rod, have a bigger turbo and a 17 įhpop.
so as far as starting with a stock truck your good to go in the mod dept.

That superchips you have don't help your tranny any. Talk to one of our great sponsors (Gear Head, Swamps, DI) about a custom tuned chip with tranny adjustments and it will shift better and make your tranny not hate life

Re: Pros to having factory forged rods?

also true but make it a custum chip
sometimes my shifts can get a little rough on some settings .
me thinks it is getting time for real tunes and a vb.

As long as the motor was taken care of (oil changes etc.) you'll be fine. Alot of guys are running 500+hp with 200,000+ miles with stock bottom ends.
