Belt driven HP water injection pump

Anybody ever tried running a high pressure pump off of a belt drive for a water injection system?

Reason I ask is I don't have my A/C anymore, and if I could put a belt driven high pressure pump in it's place on the belt I would much rather do that than run a low pressure electric pump.

I figure if I'm going to run water injection, I may as well make it at least 500psi. Any ideas on pumps? I've looked around but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for or how I would set it up?

You're also going to need a Simpson Valve, 1" supply line and at least 3/4" return line... Have Fun!

Re: Belt driven HP water injection pump

Could you be a little more specific? I'm completely clueless about mechanical water injection.

Thanks,
Dave

Pic from Haisley's site - maybe this will help a bit

It looks to me like you need a large supply line, goes to a tee w/ bypass valve & water return. Then water control valve, with another return, also boost reference line, and feed to the manifold for separate lines. That system is $2422.. I can't find anything on simpson valves I think they are hard to find? Unlimited?

Aha, that desn't seem nearly as complicated, now to source the parts to know the cost. And to find those sources.....

THANKS!

They are both S475's...With different housings

Dave have fun with the Simpson valve. Sometimes you can source them used, but like Travis said, they are about 700-800 brand new.
