Anyone remove the wastegate from there stock turbo?

i have a boost annilater that i got from jody and with it maxed out i can only boost like 22psi.. I have nothing done to my wastegate nor have i touched it.. I was just wondering what it would take for me to boost 28-30psi? I know people on here are boosting that much on a stock turdbo but how? Im using dp-tuner also.. Im not surging the turbo at all.. I have the wicked wheel installed. If i unhook the vacuum line from the wastegate what will that do? im going on the dyno soon and i would like to atleast hit 28psi..

If you unhook the waste gate line it will let you boost more beacuse it wont open the waste gate as early as it would with it hooked up.

More boost doesn't exactly mean more hp

Crank the waste gate rod to stiffen up the spring,so it dont blow open so easily.

I just pulled the red line off of the canister and it dangles. It will hit 30 psi if I push it hard enough, but I doubt that it is very useable air. I am sure that it is very hot air, being out of its map.

Re: Anyone remove the wastegate from there stock turbo?

It's a pressure line, not vacuum. Most people just stick it over the end of the closest T-bolt on one of the boots right there at the intake spyder.

While I don't think it's possible to actually loose power by holding a wastegate closed on a truck, it will likely not make any serious power changes with your stock turbocharger. You'll get more heat than anything else.
